In order to conjure a client’s identity aromatically, perfumer Alexandra Balahoutis meets with her muse at length to discuss an engaging array of topics. Beginning with flowers and aromas, the personalized consultation travels the olfactory globe. The subject's preferences in tea, coffee, wine, and spices, as well as their favorite seasons, locales, art, and literature will all inform the fragrance. Our perfumer's objective is to create a distinctive formula that resonates completely with the one person who will wear it.

After the interview, various botanical essences are applied to the client’s skin to acquaint our perfumer with a very vital ingredient, the subject’s chemistry. A tasting of rare hydrosols follows, during which the client’s feedback is noted in detail.

Designing the fragrance is a process that requires patience and precision. Each essence is carefully selected. The formula is then crafted, perfected, and given time to age. The perfume is named according to the inspirations revealed in the consultation. Once the client approves the titled formula, the fragrance is soon prepared along with a description of its theme, inspiration, and strange invisible notes.
